Lab-grown (or synthetic) diamonds are created in a laboratory and are not the same as mined natural diamonds. Lab-created diamonds are real diamonds, unlike diamond simulants such as cubic zirconia or moissanite. They have the same chemical composition and structure as natural diamonds and are beautiful gem-quality gems.

Lab-grown diamonds are an excellent substitute for natural diamonds. Since they're made in a lab rather than mined from the earth, they're guaranteed to be conflict-free and more environmentally friendly. However, lab-grown diamonds aren't the only conflict-free option. Most diamonds on the market today are mined according to the Kimberley Process, a process designed to prevent conflict diamonds from entering the market. Natural diamonds mined in Canada are also conflict-free and environmentally friendly.
